Intelligent control for a Tactile Situation Awareness System

Pilots of high-performance military aircraft rely on enormous amount of information from various instruments, visual display from computer and audio communication from outside references. Under high-stressed, visibility-impaired or distracting conditions, even experienced pilots may fail to perceive the information correctly. In particular, a loss of situational awareness such as spatial orientation and attitude awareness is a common problem that has led to many fatal accidents, including midair collisions and controlled flight in terrain, in the US military, and general aviation [1, 3, 4, 5, 6].
